For many who prefer not to mess their phone up with subscriptions to such services as advertising offers, social networks and regularly check the system for viruses, such messages come as a surprise. In addition, it is difficult to determine which ads are malicious and which are not.
In this article, we’ll take a look at how to get rid of annoying pop-up ads on Android.
Android advertising in the good old days and useful editing websites

First, you should close all applications in one of two ways. The first – in the list of recent applications, close each, for example, by moving to the side, or use the Clear All button, if your version of Android supports this feature.
There is also a third way, perhaps the fastest – restarting your phone.
Next, find apps that were installed around the time the ads first appeared. This procedure can take a while, especially if you regularly install new applications and games and are sort of a professional when it comes to installing apps.
Once you’ve found the most likely candidates, head over to Google Play and check reviews for a particular app. If there is something related to advertising, you can safely delete the application and proceed to check the next one.
How to determine which app is showing pop-up ads?
There is the possibility that ads are displayed in applications that you have to put up with, such as in free games.
This scheme is fair enough. You don’t pay anything, but you watch ads.
But what if an ad appears on the home screen without warning?
Simply put, this adware is a form of malware that needs to be specifically tracked down and removed like mistakes by an editor.

1. Pop-up ad notifications

A window with permissions for the application will appear, where you can specify the parameters for accessing your phone’s hardware and functions (for example, contacts or mobile network). Additional options can be found through Menu> All permissions.
Here you can find all the information you need for a specific application. Also, you might find that the app is not designed for what you thought it was. Like it happens oftentimes when you think the service was meant to edit papers but it is just a fraud.
2. Current open applications
In addition to the notification area, it’s a good idea to check open apps that might show pop-up ads.
When an advertisement appears, click the Overview button (to the right of the Home button). When open applications are displayed as a “pile”, hold down the icon in the upper left corner of the advertising window.
Then, an “i” button will appear in the upper right corner, after which you can see the access rights for the detected application.
What to do if you can’t find an app that serves ads?
For those who want to use a phone or tablet and do not plan to reset the settings to the factory settings, perhaps the best solution is utilities to search for malicious applications made for advertising.
You should probably start with the free Ad Detect plugin, which is designed to detect ad network connections for your apps. You may find that some of the ads are displayed inside apps. What we need to do is find apps that display ads on the home screen.

1. Ad network detectors

2. Removing adware
To permanently get rid of pop-up ads, you should uninstall the corresponding applications.
Everything is pretty simple here. Go to Settings> Applications, click on the desired application and select Uninstall (Delete).
Alternatively, the Uninstall tab in the app info screen, or directly from the home screen or app drawer. Hold down and select Uninstall.
You can take a more extreme route and restore your phone backup before the adware was installed.
You can also factory reset to remove all apps and data from your phone and start from scratch. This crucial way comes in handy in cases where there are too many ads.
